The Sigma Tau Delta Scholarships are generously provided by our parent organization to recognized achievement in writing. The Sigma Tau Delta Board of Directors approves these four scholarship awards annually.

Kelsey Baker is an aspiring broadcast journalist who will be studying Mass Communications at the University of South Florida. She will also pursue a minor in Political Science so she may specialize and become a political correspondent. At Bloomingdale Senior High School, she was Editor in Chief of Bull’s Eye, the school’s newsmagazine and website. She was also a violinist in the Bloomingdale Orchestra department. She also has a penchant for writing stories and, one day, would like to be a published author.
Holly Curtis
Hayfield Secondary School

Alexandria, VA
Holly Curtis is a 2013 senior at Hayfield Secondary School, and English is her favorite core subject. She plans to attend George Mason University next year and is deciding whether to study social work or nursing. In addition to taking English as a core class, she also takes creative writing.
Casey Nolan
The Woodlands College Park High School
Chapter: Cavalier English Honor Society
The Woodlands, TX
Casey Nolan will be attending Georgetown University in the fall as an English major while possibly minoring in Spanish. After undergraduate school, she plans to attend law school and practice constitutional law. Eventually, she hopes to become a federal judge. Her major academic interests include English, history, Spanish, and physics.
Brianna Latrash

Brianna Latrash is a senior at Hayfield Secondary School. English has always been by far her favorite academic subject, which has helped emphasize her passion for the performing arts. Brianna is also a founding member of her school’s National English Honor Society, a society that she finds crucial to any high school. In the fall, Brianna will be attending the University of Cincinnati College–Conservatory of Music to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre; she hopes to minor in Communications.
