The Advisory Council continues to seek recommendations for the Common Reader for next year; the text selected becomes the basis for the NEHS scholarship competition and also serves as a potential community read for chapters. The recommendations should meet the following criteria:
- challenging to academic NEHS students;
- of manageable length;
- published within the last twenty years and not commonly taught widely in English classes; and
- available in various formats and priced affordably.
Please submit suggested titles and authors no later than February 1, 2021, to NEHS Director Dave Wendelin. Later in February, all advisors will receive a survey asking for a ranking of those titless under consideration to guide the decision of the Advisory Council. The Common Reader will be announced in early April.
