The NEHS Advisory Council is pleased to welcome Bethany Seal as its new Southern Region representative.
Bethany will be working alongside the existing Southern Region representative, Jessica McCole. Both Bethany and Jessica are available to answer any questions that you might have about running your NEHS Chapter and/or the opportunities available to student members and Chapter Advisors.
Bethany teaches English at West Harrison High School in Gulfport, MS. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has been the English Department Chairperson since 2019, and has sponsored her school’s chapter of National English Honor Society since 2020. She studied at the University of Southern Mississippi and at Bowling Green State University.
Aside from teaching, Bethany loves the sun, warm weather, and the beach, but her favorite hobby is spending time with her three yellow Labrador Retrievers. She also loves reading, trying out different brunch spots, traveling, and attending Southern Miss Athletics events.
Chapter Advisors are encouraged to reach out to Bethany and Jessica, the NEHS Advisory Council Southern Region representatives, with any questions they may have about managing their chapter.
