NEHS continues to seek new members of the Advisory Council who are willing to represent NEHS at the Society level. The NEHS Advisory Council plays a vital role in supporting and directing the work of the Society. Members, all of whom lead active NEHS chapters in their respective schools, serve a minimum of a three-year term and, among many duties, provide counsel and advice to the Director, support new and experienced Chapter Advisors in their respective geographic regions, evaluate scholarship and grant applications, represent NEHS at some national meetings, and select the common readers.
We currently seek applications from the following regions: Southern, High Plains, Southwestern, and Far Western (see the NEHS Chapter Directory for specific state/region alignments). Interested Chapter Advisors must submit a letter of interest detailing qualifications for the position to include visionary ideas about the future of NEHS and a current resume/CV. Additionally, a letter from a school supervisor acknowledging an understanding of the time commitments of Advisors and the potential for travel that may necessitate being away from school must be included as part of the application. All materials should be affixed as attachments to an email addressed to Dave Wendelin, the NEHS Director, by November 5, 2018. Questions about the positions may also be sent to the same address.
